A
seemingly perfect site was chosen for the 1999 showthe
Martin Luther King Jr. Waterfront Park in Oakland, CA.
Right on the water with grass to relax in and built in
BBQs to cook on, the park seemed twice as big as was needed.
Wrong! 129 rods and customs quickly filled the parking
area to capacity, prepped for a beautiful sunny day packed
with tons of great cars and trucks. While the parks department
was very pleased with the promoters, the show and the
participants, Billetproof was told that it had already
outgrown the venue and that there were no other parks
in the district that would hold the show. The search began
yet again.
